AFTER RECEIVING TWO COVID VACCINES, YOUNG WOMAN HAS FREQUENT SHORTNESS OF BREATH AND DEVELOPS LUPUS AND PSORIATIC ARTHRITIS
Woman Suffers from Frequent Stroke-Like Symptoms but Doctors are Unable to Determine Cause
I received the two Covid vaccines and then the booster in 2021. I then contracted Covid in November 2021. That following December I had strep throat, which is very normal for my family as we have two "carriers" of this.
In January I had chest pain and was struggling to breathe. I went to my primary care physician and was told it was pleurisy. They gave me a round of steroids. By the end of those 10 days, it was still hard to breathe and I was still in pain. They did another round of steroids. By the end of January, I was frustrated that I had no relief so the doctor ordered a chest CT scan. At this point we thought maybe pneumonia or bronchitis. The CT scan showed that there were three masses in my right lung. I was sent to pulmonology to get a bronchoscopy done to biopsy them. They biopsied all three. Two came back as histoplasmosis and the third they assumed was the same thing.
I was then sent to infectious disease. I was treated for the histoplasmosis from February to July. By the end of July, I was to get a "new baseline" EKG and chest CT. I was told I would have some scar tissue from it. The CT showed all but one spot had cleared; however, now I had a pulmonary embolism (PE). I was treated for that for six months and was sent to a hematologist. During these treatments I experienced what we thought was a stroke twice but didn't show up on imaging. The Emergency Room (ER) at Boone gave me medications for a migraine and acid reflux and sent me home after I waited in the ER for 6.5 hours to even be seen. By that time my husband and I have enough and we just told them to get me my discharge papers.
I went to another ER for the same stroke-like symptoms and still nothing showed on imaging. I have been off blood thinners as of today, May 9, 2023, since the end of January. I have yet to get a normal CT scan, but they are considering the spot still on my lung being normal.
I have been experiencing chest pain and shortness of breath again for about a month. They are continuing to tell me its esophageal spasms. I also have trouble swallowing and possibly another PE. We have yet to get addressed the fact that there is still a spot on my lung. The EKGs are all "normal," and even though I struggle with my breathing often, my oxygen levels continue to be "normal."
Nothing that I have experienced in the past three years has been "normal." I would like to add that I am 33 years old and just got diagnosed with Lupus and psoriatic arthritis as well. I experience episodes of dizziness and I pass out occasionally. The only thing I had going on before Covid was migraines.
