My father was diagnosed with prostate cancer in early August. He has been to every type of doctor for treatment of kidney stones, hammer toe, check-ups, etc.  We knew his health condition at the time. He had stage 3 kidney disease as well.

When I took him to the hospital, I told them more than three times that he has cancer and kidney disease. His doctor told him that he was healthy enough to do treatment for prostate cancer. His heart was fine.

The hospital called me over the next few days.  They first told me they had his blood oxygen climbing, so he should be coming home soon.

Then, the next day they called and said he was having problems. They INSISTED that he had some kind of heart problems before he came to the hospital, because his heart was beating wrong. They told me he was on Remdesivir, and I asked that they take him off because of his kidneys. They said that was the treatment they use and would not take him off.

As soon as he wound up in intensive care, they stopped Remdesivir because his kidneys had failed. The ICU nurse did tell us that most patients that arrive in ICU are taken off Remdesivir due to the fact that it WILL cause kidney failure after 4-5 days of treatment.  They put him on a ventilator and still insisted he had heart issues. He died not long after. I was not allowed in the hospital AT ALL.
