My mother was 85 years old at the time of her death, but she seemed like someone twenty years younger. She had no medical conditions and was on no medications. She was fully independent and had all of her mental faculties. She drove all over town, met friends for lunch and dinner, did her own grocery and clothes shopping, ran a household, did laundry, cooked meals for other family members, paid all of her bills and dealt with the inevitable maintenance jobs that a house entails.
