My Wife Called Saying They Were Going To Take Our Baby At 32 Weeks, When I Called The Hospital The Nurse Lied To Me And Told Me Not To Drive To The Hospital
When I got there they were prepping her for surgery, they left her on the ventilator and she died four days later.
Mercy Joplin, Missouri
It’s a long story. My wife was 32weeks pregnant and got covid-19. No one, even her OBGyn would help us- She started getting sick on Christmas Day, 2021, and by New Year’s Eve, we finally called ambulance to come get her. She was admitted to the covid floor at Mercy Hospital, Joplin MO They refused to let me see her except through a window for 15 minutes a day. They would only give her remdesivir, even though i pleaded with them to do something different for her, since the remdesivir wasn’t working! They obviously we not trying to save her life!
She called me on Jan 4 crying, saying that they were going to take our baby at 32 weeks, and hadn’t discussed this with us at all. I immediately called the hospital and asked the nurse what they were doing, and she lied to me telling me that they had changed their minds, and were not going to take the baby, and not to come up there, but i was already on the way. When i got there, they were prepping her for surgery! That nurse had lied to me, but thankfully, I got to see Lyn as they rolled her past me; she was scared, and had told me earlier that she thought she was going to die. I just thought she was just saying that, and didn’t really mean it, but now i realize that she did mean it!
I had faith in the system - they were supposed to help her live!
As they wheeled her past me, I got to tell her that I loved her, and those were the last words i ever got to speak to her, the last words she heard me say. The nurse told me to go to the waiting room, and they’d come get me when the baby was born, and take me up to see him. After he was born, I never got to see my wife, and they refused to let me see my baby at all. They put her on a ventilator after delivery, and told me to go home for 5 days, and then be tested before i could see him. Turns out, they called me on Saturday night at 7:00 and told me to get up there, that she was bad. When i got there, they were “working on her” but then said she was gone.
Once I had to ask the nurse to dump her poop bucket. They refused to give her medication
THEN they let me in, and when i touched her she was completely cold to the touch. I believe she’d been dead for hours according to what i read, it takes a body 12 hours to cool to the touch. The nurse had lied to me earlier in the day, telling me that her temperature was high, and they were getting it down, and that she’d been causing her trouble all day, with no explanation what she meant by that. Now i know, i believe in my heart, that they were putting on a show for me in that room, that my wife was already dead, and had been for some time. I will never forget this, and I will never forgive them for what they did to my beautiful wife. They murdered her-they took my wife, and they took the mother of our boys. This has been a nightmare that nobody else ever should have to go through!

Words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss and the utter disgust I feel for the medical staff who did this to your family!
This also happened to a woman in my hometown who was 30 weeks pregnant except they murdered both the mother and baby. I spoke with her mother and it was her only daughter and was to be her first grandchild. She is still devastated and can barely function, has been suicidal at times and hospitalized for depression. I'm not sure she will ever recover from it. There has to be justice brought for these families although it won't bring their loved ones back. But we can never allow something like this to happen again in this country.
