NO CODE BLUE FOR A 29-YEAR-OLD PATIENT IN CARDIAC ARREST

On July 19, 2021, my son became very ill after being exposed to covid. I took care of my son and, of course, knew the risks. On July 25, the EMTs were called because my son’s pulse oximeter was 30, his lips were blue, he was dizzy and just couldn't even speak. Paramedics transported him to the hospital where he was admitted.

Later in the week I was admitted due to respiratory issues. I was able to speak with my son that same day and didn't hear from him the next day. We called the hospital only to find out that my son was placed on a ventilator.  I was later admitted into the hospital on July 29 due to respiratory failure.

I was nowhere near my son when on August 12, 2021, we got a call that my son had passed at 6:49. When my daughter went to see my son, she said it was about 30 minutes from the call to when they got to the room and my son was stiff and hard. Rigor mortis does not start until an hour or so. I did not see in his medical records that a Code Blue was called that day.

I also don't understand why the nurse near my son called my daughter to ask if we wanted them to continue CPR because he went into cardiac arrest. My son was a full code and the doctor stated that when he entered my son’s room, he noticed that the patient was pulseless.  Where was the monitor technician? Why wasn't an alarm called? They let my son die. They chose who they wanted to live or let die.

My son was only 29. My heart has been ripped to pieces along with having to deal with my father's passing in February 2021 - my son in August 2021 and two months later, my brother passes away. Three generations of men gone! They were good men. Loved by many and missed sooo so much!!!  Their laughter and smiles will always be remembered!!

It will never make sense until it is seen as part of a longer history.

The stories do not begin when someone becomes ill, but long before.

In every story here, I hear the dying moans and cries and screams of the Native North Americans.

What did you expect from those who rewarded you for genocide?

Horrible. I'm so sorry.
