PATIENT WHO GETS NO HELP WITH BREATHING DIFFICULTY IN HOSPITAL WANTS TO BE VENTILATED
Daughter Grieves Over the Loss of Her Father and Hopes He is Proud of Her
My father was sick on July 9, 2020, of suspected Covid. He went to Enterprise Medical Clinic on July 12 and was sent home without a Covid test done. By July 15, he admitted himself into the hospital because his nurses at his regular doctor’s office told him if he didn't get help, he was going to die. He could not breathe.
On the night of July 15, he called me for the last time. He wanted to be put on the ventilator and he never woke up. There was no kidney, heart or lung doctor there so they asked to send him elsewhere. On July 19, he was sent to Crestview, Florida. A nurse that I talked to there said these words to me, "Do you realize what shape he was in when they brought him?" He went on dialysis. He was given Remdesivir on July 25 and died on July 27.
My dad was my best friend and lover of plants who instilled that into me. He loved Jesus and I know he is with Him and free from pain, but what I would give to have him here, seeing my only child get his driver's license and now graduating high school in a few days. I hope he is proud of me. I miss him terribly. I love you, Old Fart!
